Our neighbor the French President and Trampolines.

Every time I sit down to write this I think I will have nothing to say and then I look at our pictures and realize I do.  Yesterday, Sunday was absolutely a day of rest..and rest we did.  I got an email around 4pm that a dentist I had tried to contact could see me in her office across town at 5:30.  So I(according to Todd) freaked out and left the house in a panic.  In my defense I did not know where I was going and I hate being late.  So I took the metro to near Notre Dame is as her office is near there.  Her office is literally right across the river from the Cathedral.  She is an American from New York who moved here 25 years ago.  It was funny because when I first started talking with here I had a hard time understanding her English but after she had talked to me for about 5 minutes she sounded just like a New Yorker again.  She was great and we conversed about French politics...well she talked my mouth was otherwise busy.  It was a little funny because she told me she was voting against Sarkosy(the current french president) because she felt he was immoral.  She said her husband, who kept trying to call, was likely calling because he is a reporter and would know the election results early(I guess they tell them early but they are not supposed to tell anyone....but obviously they tell their wives.)  She finally answered her phone, and was excited but assured him in french I didn't speak french(that I understood.)  So I left with a fixed tooth and some insider information on the french election.  Then today when we left I realized(and how I missed this before is a mystery) that Hollande(the new French pres) headquarters are on our block...right around the corner and apparently he was there this afternoon because there were masses of people, press, and police. The kids and I watched it for a while and then headed off to the park.

This would not be allowed in the US

I, once again was treated to Austins complaining about our outing.  We stopped to give him back his will to live and got some junk food.  This improved moods and we pushed on to the Tuileries Gardens.  I had seen these trampolines there and a pretty cool park.  The kids, all but Hannah of course, loved the trampolines.  Hannah is our family scaredy cat.  So after 2 euros worth of jumping we headed to the free park.  The kids had a lot of fun there and made a friend.  A french boy who spoke some English enjoyed Jackson and his wiliness to attempt French.  As we left Jackson said "Au revoir" and to his disappointment the boy said "Good bye."

We made it home and the kids said it was the best day they have had...who knew that ice cream and trampolines would beat out the Louvre?

Paint by numbers that you need both a math degree and more dexterity than any of us posses.

Jumper boy

It spun rather fast, was hard for Jackson to keep up, and then it was hard for him to resist dragging himself along with it.

A moment in time.

  1. There looks like many things in those pics would not be allowed including, but not limited to, the chairs that lean back... People could actually relax and possibly sleep in them. Glad you are having beau coup amusante!!!

  2. Looks like a lot of fun. I wish we had trampoline parks like that. Now a days they are even removing the play areas at McDonalds. I guess they keep getting sued and can not get insurance any longer. SAD....
