| Austin refusing the carry the pink toilet paper |
Nothing super exciting to report. We have been blessed with moments of sun and some warmer weather. Yesterday the kids and I escaped to our small park for some baseball. Which consists of a milk bottle bat and a tennis ball. We get a lot of looks when we play it at the park, it's obviously some unfamiliar game to them(especially given the milk bottle.) We grabbed some warm bread and came home. Today I decided we would head out early to the farmers market. For the last 5 weeks I have gone to the same stand for fruit and veggies. Mainly because I know the guys there speak some English and they are nice and I now know they are from Tunisia. They also have started to recognize us and have interjected their opinions into my fruit selection. Apparently I don't know what I am doing when it comes to selecting fruit...I knew this but was given a brief lesson on how to select an apple today. Anyhow they also give me a bunch of stuff for free which is nice. Jackson lost a tooth(finally the thing had been loose for like 4 months!) and the tooth fairy brought him 5 euros, so he got a Eiffel tower snow globe and key chain at the farmers market with it. He is quite pleased with himself. After that we dropped off the goods at home and walked to the Eiffel tower park. We played a while, it was very quiet there and the kids had good time letting off some steam. We then went to the bigger super marche that's near there. I have become a lot less timid about the experience of buying stuff here. It used to be when we first got here I did not want to set foot in a store with the kids, now I just kind of grin and bear it. We left with the goods including pink toilet paper(I have no idea why, but most of the toilet paper is some crazy pastel color.) They also have flushable inner rolls, what a novel idea! Anyhow, after we got the stuff there was how to get it the half mile home. Well, the boys each got a bag and some candy to keep them from complaining. Jackson was afraid he'd lose an arm but I just told him Dad could put it back on if it fell off.

So then we came home did more school and I debated taking a nap or going back out as the sun had come out. I reminded myself I was in Paris and informed the troops we were heading back out. I was met with a French Revolution of resistance. Slowly they all fell into place, except Austin who had the tiniest scape on his finger. Seriously if you could see it I would have taken a picture. He kept insisting I stop and buy a band aid. He kept this up for about a mile. I was planning on taking them to the Luxembourg Gardens but I frankly could take no more whining so I saw the Montparnasse shopping center and we aborted our trip into there. Montparnasse is an area not too far from here there is a big train station and huge sky scraper that stands alone. At the base is a big shopping center or mall. We went in and found escalators. And when you are 3 there is nothing, I mean nothing, more exciting that a movable staircase. So the ride began, up and down, up and down....
Until I could take no more and the boys refused to ride the free ride anymore. So we dashed into a snack bar and got some Orangania and cookies. After we walked down Rue de Pasture to get home, and I had to pull from the vaults of my memory who he was and why he was famous. I was half making stuff up and was pleased to discover when I got home and googled it I was right about most of what I'd said. I went for a run which was nice. I hope the weather stays nice. The rain had not bothered me until we had a couple nice days and I saw how wonderful it is when the sun is out. I think we may go to either a church or some other activity tomorrow as a family.

I had a tooth filling fall out yesterday...wonderful. It does not bother me but I think I will have to get it fixed here. Todd got some recommendations on dentists here. I hate dentists. I would seriously rather do just about anything. So I guess I will be adding trip to dentist to my activities in the near future. We booked our trip to Barcelona. We are going next week for 4 days should be lots of fun.
