Day One...and a half.

Day one...and a half.

So no one goes to India without inevitably worrying about getting some sort of gadtointestional distress. Most people do not however, as a family spend the week BEFORE puking. So when last week my kids all took turns vomiting(though I felt prepared what with all my travel remedies handy, I also  used extreme caution that I myself did not catch it.

Fast forward to the night before our 15hr flight, I having managed to organize the last of the bags puked, a lot, all night. All I remember is praying on the bathroom floor I could get it together enough to get on the plane because the prospect of buying 6 new plane tickets was unbearable and there was little way I was letting Todd take all 4 alone and me catching up(they’d have ended up on a no fly list.) I had to get better. Pretty sure I willed myself well because by morning I was vertical, showered, and sipping gator aid.

So off we went. As has become the tradition Ken and Teresa took us to the airport(they also let us stay there, took kids for haircuts, and fed us;))

Getting to plane was uneventful. Flight was long but could have been so much worse, flying Hong Kong airlines so began the “What is it?” Food questions.  You chase the sun the whole way so it was only just setting on our 20hrs of sun day when we landed in Hong Kong. We are staying the night here and giving ourself a reprieve at the airport hotel(may be the best decision I’ve ever made-not to have to even leave building to find a shower and bed) before we get on the next flight to India tomorrow.
The airport reminds me of San Francisco’s airport, very clean and modern. Which is great as some members of our party need some assurance I’m not taking them to the slums of Mumbai...I am but like in a month;).
