Venice

Oh life is rough....So we really love where our apartment is.  I did not realize we were going to be right on the water and have our own little courtyard but it's made it hard to leave this spot and go anywhere.  Venice is great but it's a little like going to Disneyland or something.  There are tons of people here.  Large groups of tourists following their designated umbrella, smilie face sign, or flower that the tour guides hold up in the air to try to keep their group together.  So having a quiet place to soak up what I think is the real Venice in has been really nice.  The kids have been playing soccer and baseball(using a soccer ball and umbrella.)  We have had to rescue the ball out of the canal several times, once even a passing boat came over to hand it back to us.  Yesterday we went out to lunch.  It was great.  I think the food in Italy is my favorite.  Everything seems good, except bread, that award is Frances for sure.  They really have the best pizza on earth and we got pizza Margarita(sauce and cheese) and a Pizza with shrimp on it and a tuna salad.  everything was so good that there was not a shred of food left.  We came home as it's HOT here YAY.  We won't complain about being too hot for sure.  We took some time to rest and then had dinner.  After we had to drag the kids out for a walk.  They have kind of learned that walking with us is a pretty big endeavor.  We walked around the whole island, by the time Todd's phone died we had gone 4 miles.  We went onto the Rialto Bridge, St. Marks Square, and walked the narrow streets home in the dark.
There was a big festival across the canal from us so there were lots of kids around and load, really awful Italian music.
Today Todd went for a long run, though running here I think is a bit of a challenge.  I wanted to see a Klemt art exhibit they have here so Todd watched the kids and I got away.  It's been loads of fun.  In the morning we are off to Croatia.  We go to Split for about 5 days.  I think we wish we could stay here longer, it's been really nice.

Ball Rescue...I think at least 4 times I had to do this.

So there are these little crabs you can catch with a strainer.

What the kids look like when I show them the crab...they scattered, I like Jackson's "no thanks" stance.

Movie night and popcorn.

I thought I wanted this boat....

Then I saw this boat...it's owned by some American Billionaire, but no one knows who, it's name is C2. It's considered a "Super Yacht" it's  the 81st largest private yacht in the world...I looked it up when I got home.
