I see dead people...6 million of them.

Divide and conquer. We woke early and got to it. Bathed, schooled, and out the door by 2. The boys mission the Catacombs, the girls...to be decided. The boys walked(about 45 minutes at our slow pace.) They stopped and grabbed lunch(pizza)the first actual dining out experience here. Austin really did not want to go, I think the whole idea of looking at 6 million peoples bones in various states of repose was spooky to him. Jacksons just game for everything. So as is our normal tactic we just informed him he was going and he'd love it. So off they went. The girls and I decided to walk back to the Rue Cler, a pedestrian street with a lot of shops not far from here. I scouted out a(of all things pizza place, so it's kind of like we had lunch together) they were pretty good at lunch and seemed to like the pizza. The especially liked there was bowel of candy by the front door so that was a good bribe to behave. Then we walked about a bit and headed for the park. I found some larger(actually have shopping carts) stores, the biggest issue is while I'd love to grab an actual shopping cart of food, I would still have to get it to the house. The boys got home and had a great time. Todd did a good job of freaking them out, including telling Austin he was not sure he knew how to get out of a cemetery they went into(picture of Austin looking rather concerned.)
Austin's favorite thing about the catacombs was that "sometimes it would be really dark, like it is kind of hard to see the bones, so the creepy part is that if you want to lean against the walls you might actually lean against the bones. Me, "Did you lean against the bones?" Austin, "I don't think so...maybe."

Jackson's favorite things was: "The skull heads." Me, "Any particular one?" Jackson, "No, just the skull heads, and the bone cross."

For those of you who know me I am not a fan of small spaces, so this was something I was happy to miss. :)

  1. I love it. noticed Austin is wearing his shoes on the wrong feet. That's my boy! Love your blog. Sounds like things are doing well. What happened to Skype?
