Vanity

I guess out of desperation over the weather situation Todd took the boys to a sporting goods store and came home with all the trimmings for a ping pong table (girls call it Pingie Pong), 2 tennis balls, and a basketball...Good thing we have insurance on our apartment.  Today I left the house alone, put on my iPhone music(well technically it's Todd's music but it will do) and walked the streets.  Once I left I was seriously considering not going home(the idea of walking the streets of Paris alone was a welcome idea)  My only errand was to find a new supermarket.  So I found the Monoprix, for those familiar, It is amazing.  I have been deprived of a real store for almost a month, I have found one.  I was so in heaven having found it that I forgot I had actually gone there to look at their food store section and never even saw that.  Really compared to our standards it's not that amazing but they had clothes for reasonable prices and other goodies(it's like a Target) and I was ALONE.  I have been having a hair color crisis, and though these are things most people don't share in public...I'm me.  I needed my hair colored, it had been driving me crazy.  I keep walking past hair solons here trying to decide if I have the courage to go in and explain in a foreign language that I have these VERY BLOND hairs that I don't like and would like "blended in" to my naturally blond hair ;).  But today while in the Monoprix I found...boxed hair color.  This I knew could be really bad.  But when faced with explaining the aforementioned in french I wondered how much harder it would be to explain a botched dye job, in fact in seemed it would be easier, or at least obvious what I wanted.  So I got the hair color, said a quick prayer and gave it a whirl.  30 minutes later those super blond hairs were gone and I don't look ridiculous so I am saved.
We have been running a lot.  It's really very fun. Even when it's busy you seem to just flow through the crowds and see the sites only at a slightly faster pace.  Todd sometimes runs at night(pictures) I don't alone.  Because my mom would not like it.

While on my run today I wanted to go by the Pomidou Center, to see how far it was from us.  It's like 5 miles from the route I took, so I don't know I will walk that with the kids, may have to get my courage back up and take subway.  There was some protest over animal testing there when I ran by.  It was cold today but not as rainy.  Got to "chat" with my sister-in-law makes me miss everyone.  xoxo
