And then the sky opened up.

Well as I try not to start all these with "The weather is less than great."  The weather is less than great.  It is down right awful.  Rain is a constant threat, even when it is sunny and beautiful.  Yesterday is a good case in point.  The sun was out so we took our leave of our apartment and ventured out.  With the sun out it was almost warm.  We got to "our" park and had a quick game of basketball.   We then ventured to the playground to play "pingie" pong. There were a lot of people there but in the distance behind the beautiful Eiffel Tower the sky was black.  It was amazing just how fast it went from sunny to torrential downpour.  As we clambered to get home, umbrellas useless against the horizontal rain it occurred to me we would have been much better off taking shelter under the ping pong table and waiting it out, next time. Suffice it to say by the time we reached our door we were all soaking wet.  It had not only poured on us it had hailed.  Which meant the rain was accompanied by an arctic cold wind.  And while I have had to force baths on everyone for the last 3 weeks when we got inside I had 4 requests for a bath.

We got to FaceTime with my parents today.  It's their wedding anniversary.  Today we had "school" I went to the store and got more food.  The amount these kids eat now is frightening.  I have no idea how I could possibly  keep enough food in here if there were teenagers.  I'd be at the store 10x's a day.
On a funny side note I had an embarrassing thing happen yesterday. I am a closet dancer.  I love to dance around and rarely get caught.  My kids all know I do it. Todd I believe has caught me a couple times, but I am pretty cautious not to get caught.  This may stem from an incident once when I was out dancing and was nicknamed the "wrecking ball."  Anyway after that I try not to get caught in the act. But I was doing dishes yesterday and had my iPod in.  We have a window in our kitchen that looks out into a courtyard that I have NEVER seen a soul in.  So I had no cause to worry that anyone would be out there watching my "performance."  So here I am hoping around the kitchen.   I am not just prancing around the kitchen.  I am front row at the Cold Play concert.(That's a band grandma) Arms in the air, lip syncing, pretty much as bad as it could get.  And then I look outside.  There is not one but 2 guys watching me, one I am pretty sure is the building maintenance guy, I quickly try to think if there is anything I can do to make it seem like what I  was just doing what I was not just doing, but as they notice I have seen them they throw their hands up in the air and mimic my most recent "move."  I really just want to die but I wave and quickly leave the kitchen...never to return.

    1. I am a great dancer...in my head, which is why that's where I try to keep it contained. :) But one day Shannon, one day I'll show you my moves.
